Job Description

Software Developer - Melton Mowbray - GBP 40,000 DOEI am working with a fast-growing client who specialises in software solutions and waste management consultancy services, worldwide!My client is looking for a positive and proactive Software Developer to join their fast-growing IT team.This is a hybrid role which means you will work from the companies offices based in Melton Mowbray at least 2/3 times a week.The successful candidate will have 3+ years of commercial experience in a software engineering role.Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop applications/solutions, following specifications, to a high standard
  • Fixing and maintenance of existing code
  • Liaise with internal product stakeholders
  • Produce technical documentation
  • Take part in solution architecture and design processes
Essential Experience:
  • HTML5, CSS3, SaSS, Bootstrap
  • JavaScript (ES6/ES2015)
  • C#, .NET Standard 2.0 and .NET Core skills including LINQ
  • ASP.NET Core, Web Apps, Web Services and MVC
  • Familiarity of ORM / Data Abstraction Frameworks including Entity Framework Core
  • Unit test frameworks experience
  • Visual Studio 2019
  • Version control system for collaborative development
  • Working with JSON data
  • Broad understanding of software development life cycles and methods
  • Collaborative software development
Desirables:
  • Understanding of AGILE methodologies
  • Experience in developing solutions utilising public cloud services e.g. Azure, AWS
  • Experience with unit test frameworks (MSTest, Xunit, Nunit, Selenium)
  • VueJS, TypeScript, JQuery 3.x
  • MarkDown
  • BitBucket & GIT
  • Bootstrap 4
  • .NET Standard 2, .NET Framework
  • RESTful and SOAP Web Services
  • WCF for implementing Web Services
  • Understanding of HTTP protocol and implementation
  • Database programming with PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, SQLite, Spatialite
  • Experience in implementing localisation and regionalisation in applications
  • Azure Services - Azure AppService, Azure SQL, Azure Storage, Azure AD, Azure B2C
  • Experience with GIS systems. ESRI ArcGIS, OpenLayers, Leaflet
  • Familiarity with geographic data GeoJSON, PostGIS, MS SQL Spatial Types and WKT
