Job Description

Pet Unit SpecialistWe are currently recruiting for Pet Unit Specialist roles for our client based at the worlds leading pet nutrition centre in Waltham on the Wolds, Leicestershire.to work with our clients cats and dogs at their global research centre. This role is critical to the day to day delivery of the research trials but also to ensure a high standard of care for the pets.Pay rate: £10.16 per hr (inclusive of shift allowance)Hours: of 37.5 hours per week, 0800-1600, working on a rota that includes weekends and bank holidays.What Youll Do

  • Data collection - Collect and record accurately all relevant animal samples and data
  • Delivery of dog/cat life skills training, recreation and socialisation
  • Husbandry and care - Deliver and record all care and husbandry tasks on your designated animal unit (e.g. feeding, grooming, clipping/trimming, tooth brushing and health checks)
  • What Youll Need
  • A good general education to GSCE standard or equivalent. Grade C or above is essential in Maths and English, and grade C or above in Science is preferable
  • Though not essential, a relevant degree or animal-based qualification would be desirable.
  • A flexible working style, good communication, planning and organisation skills and proven ability to work in a team are all essential.
  • Experience of working with cats or dogs and a passion for animals is essential. Proven experience of animal training and welfare is required.

  • Work rota (including some weekend/bank holidays)
  • Numeracy, attention to detail and computer literacy are also key to ensure the accuracy of data collection and data handling required of the role.
  • Requirements:
  • Own transport is essential due to location
