Job Description

Our client based in Melton Mowbray is seeking Maintenance Engineer who will be responsible for maintaining and undertaking servicing of the manufacturing facility and its equipment, including (but not limited to): automated saw centres, plastic welding machinesand automated cleaning machinery.The Maintenance Engineer will also assist the Maintenance Manager in undertaking activities to ensure that the machinery can perform optimally by implementing and maintaining a full preventative maintenance program, as well as supporting the completion ofengineering projects and facility improvements.Key Tasks & Responsibilities: Take responsibility for efficiently maintaining and undertaking the servicing of the manufacturing facility and its equipment Effectively maintain equipment and machinery (which includes, but is not limited to):o Automated saw centreso Plastic welding machineso Automated cleaning machinery Assist the Maintenance Manager in the implementation of a full preventive maintenance program Support the Maintenance Manager to ensure that engineering projects and facility improvements are completed efficiently Effectively find faults on electrical control circuits, control systems and motors Effectively assist with the writing of operating procedures Ability to effectively undertake routine maintenance Ensure that daily logs are coherent, recorded accurately and regularly maintained Undertake root cause analysis Implement effective corrective actions Confident in the application of relevant health and safety knowledge to the working environment Thoroughly complete maintenance records to ensure that they are coherent and accuratePerson Specification: Qualified at an NVQ Level 3 Apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineeringStrong previous experience in the following areas:o Industrial switch gearo 415Vac (3 phase) & 240Vac (single phase) motorso Inverterso Servo motorso Varying sensor types (Photocells/proximity switches etc.)o Plastic welding controlso Electrical control systems (4 - 20mA, 0 - 10Vdc, 24Vdc, etc.)o Motor/Gearbox assemblieso Automated monitoring equipment (proximity switches, thermocouples, safety circuits, etc.)o Fitment of bearings and ballscrews Substantial previous experience of PLC / robotics Comprehensive knowledge of CNC machinery and components Fully converse with pneumatic controls and circuitry Proficient with PLC control systems and computer-based operating systems Previous experience of successfully working within PPM/TPM systems Familiar with the 17th edition of the electrical regulations Proven ability in fault finding on electrical control circuits, control systems and motors Solid understanding of the mechanical systems and basic fault finding Competent and confident with all forms of electrical test equipment (e.g. MEGGAs, Multi-meters, Clamp meters, etc.) Proven knowledge and experience of automated control systems Able to work as part of a team or on own (unsupervised) Confident in ability to undertake and assist with risk assessments Considerable experience of working in a fast paced and effective manufacturing environment Able to read engineering and technical drawings (without relying on regular support) Competent and confident in ability to work with low and extra low voltages (1000Vac to 24Vdc) Previous experience of working in a fast paced, dynamic manufacturing environment Able to effectively undertake routine maintenance Extensive knowledge of hydraulics/pneumatics Ability and understanding to successfully undertake root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actionsIndex Recruitment is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy."Due to the high volume of applications we currently receive, we are unable to respond to all candidates.
