Job Description

Finance Business PartnerMy client, a large global FMCG organisation based in Waltham on the Wolds, Leicestershire is looking for a Finance Business Partner. This is an excellent opportunity to grow and develop within a highly renowned and unique business.Pay rate: £24.12 per hourContract duration: 9 - 12 monthsThis role exists to co-pilot the Specialist Pet Trade (SPT) which plays a vital strategic role in the business and requires both a short and long term lens. This will involve providing financial direction, guidance and challenge to the Customer team & other relevant stakeholders on current and future business performance in the channel. The role of a co-pilot is to act as a catalyst to identify opportunities to improve business performance and drive them through to implementation. This role supports all customers within the SPT channel.Key Responsibilities: The job holder will be expected to:

  • Be a business partner & thought catalyst to the SPT channel with the purpose of balancing growth and profitability to deliver our OGSM & OP commitments.
  • Shape financial strategy and relevant targets for SPT customers, learning their mechanics and business models in order to develop and define the correct LT mutual P&L, while using this knowledge to drive financial insight & unlock growth opportunities.
  • Provide decision support for ad-hoc activities which financially impact the channel. For example, financial modelling of pricing, customer led and/or Mars led initiatives, business case for new pack development & diagnosing the root cause of performance issues.
  • Work closely with CDMs through the annual JBP development/sign off, ensuring proposals with a strong ROI are created and that the correct sign off governance is followed.
  • Collaboratively work with key CDMs & Stakeholders to ensure they feel ownership for all elements of their P&L. Hold stakeholders accountable and deliver a high level of challenge in order to drive action from your financial insights.
  • Deliver and encourage a strong governance culture within the SPT channel.
  • Ensure adherence to Trade Spend budgets throughout the year, and take corrective action where necessary
  • Help the Demand business make choices consistent with the OGSM financial strategy and tracking the channel against the targets for the account and identify opportunities (e.g. mix) to achieve targets (e.g. GMAC). Ensure the CDM customer team own all elements of the P&L.
  • Accountable for SPT forecast reporting, putting in place process improvements to support the efficient integration of James Wellbeloved.
  • Support ad hoc requests from the Sales Finance Manager, for example on reporting, shaping SNPR budgets for the business.
  • Education & Professional QualificationCIMA (preferred) or ACA qualified or significant relevant business experience requiredKnowledge/Experience Essential:Relevant knowledge of financial conceptsDesirable
  • Business Acumen including knowledge of the petcare market and experience of working in Demand Finance.
  • Financial modelling experience and
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with Power BI/Tableau
