Young Adults Support Worker - £1,000 Welcome Bonus!Are you a compassionate and motivated Support Worker, currently looking for a new role to support service users with severe and profound learning disabilities and complex health needs in the Meldreth, Cambridgeshire areaIf that sounds like you, I am currently recruiting on the behalf of an established and innovative nationally based care and support provider who are seeking to expand their driven team within the supported living service they operate in the Meldreth areasupporting young adults.My client is looking for experienced individuals who always strive to provide the best support possible to the service users with a unique and tailored approach, specialised to each individual.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a market leading care organisation that will support your training and development and assist you to further your career within the health and social care industry.Overview:

  • Salary£20,883 to £23,150.40 (Depending on Experience) + £1,000 Welcome Bonus
  • Hours of WorkFull Time or Part Time Permanent Position
  • Shifts40 Hours Per Week / Flexibility is Essential
  • AreaMeldreth, South Cambridgeshire
Responsibilities:
  • Supporting service users to live the independent life they choose, utilising a person centred and tailored approach.
  • Supporting service users to access their local community, this may be for days away, attending social clubs, or helping them to complete their shopping.
  • Ensuring care and support plans are always followed and reporting any changes / incidents etc to management.
  • Acting in a mentoring capacity to support the service users to develop their independent living skills.
  • You will be required to manage the service users medication and provide personal care.
  • General duties around the home, light housekeeping and keeping the environment clean, tidy and presentable.
  • Supporting with service users with cooking at mealtimes and ensuring they can access food and drinks throughout the day.
Skills:
  • The most vital skills for a support worker, is someone that is compassionate, caring, empathetic and a team player.
  • If you hold your any NVQs or care related qualification such as a care certificate these will benefit your application however are not a requirement.
  • Flexibility is a must; no two days are the same and you must be able think on our feet and adjust your approach as you go.
  • Basic IT skills are essential, you will be working on computers everyday so basic knowledge of Microsoft and the windows system is crucial.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team working skills are a must.
