Job Description

Position: SEN TeacherLocation: Meldreth, Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire borderSalary: £25,714 - £40,124 (M1 - U2)Hours: Full time - Term Time Only (40 hours full time)Closing date for applications: Monday 24th January 2022Interview Date: 28th January 2022Start date: April 2022 (or sooner if able to)This school is part of a UK wide Group and is an innovative provider of education and care for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, including ASD.Due to increasing school role they currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Teacher.This School is a special school. It is a truly unique and inspiring provision providing education, care and integrated therapeutic support for children and young people age 9-19 years with severe and profound communication difficulties associated with conditionssuch as cerebral palsy, autism, brain injury and degenerative disorders.Being a small but growing school the contribution that every team member makes a significant difference. Ifyou want to make a real difference and have a positive impact on the learning experience and quality life for young people with profound and complex needs this is the school for you.The Role:The school is looking for a passionate and skilled teacher to join the education team where they are always striving to provide the highest quality of education and outcomes for our young people. It will be your role to provide high quality, challengingand differentiated learning through a broad and balanced curriculum, with the aim of ensuring that every young person is able to achieve their very best possible outcomes and full potential for future life.It will be your responsibility will be to plan and deliver high quality teaching and learning within a meaningful and engaging curriculum that stretches and challenges all learners within your class.As the school team are determined to become an outstanding service, they will require you to develop your own skill set, and have an up to date knowledge and understanding of the professional duties of teachers and the statutory framework within which teacherswork. The school will of course support you on this and any areas you wish to develop in.Youll also be expected to supervise the work of any staff, who are assigned to work with your class.Skills and qualificationsSuccessful candidates are likely to demonstrate:

  • PGCE, QTS or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training
  • Knowledge and personal experience of disabilities and surrounding issues.
  • A flexible approach and a high level creativity
  • The role may require participation in physical intervention and personal care routines
