Job Description

Overview and Responsibilities x2 SEN Teachers – Meldreth Manor SchoolLocation: Meldreth, Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire borderSalary: £28,000 - £38,810 (M1-M6)Hours: Full time - Term Time Only (40 hours full time)Start date: We would be looking to start Teachers from the new school year in September, however if you are available and hold the right experience and knowledge then this may not applyThe Aurora Meldreth Manor School is an independent Special day school which provides a highly specialist learning environment for students aged 6 to 19 who have a range of PMLD, MLD and SLD needs including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD and associateddifficulties, who require an individualised, specialist approach. Many of our students have complex medical needs and sensory/ physical impairments. Our students are supported to manage sensory overload, anxiety, low self-esteem, low confidence, and difficultywith transitions which is often demonstrative through their behaviours.We are a well resourced school with exceptional fully inclusive facilities, including a Hydrotherapy pool and well developed outdoor learning facilities. We are fortunate to have our own full therapeutic team who work closing with class leaders in the developmentof our child centred curriculum.Due to the continued increase in our student role and expansion of the school provision we are currently looking for two SEN Teachers to join our NAS accredited specialist team to create better outcomes and life chances for our students in their preparationfor adult life. The post offers fantastic opportunities for an innovative SEN teacher with passion to bring further challenge and ambition to learning for learners with profound and complex needs.The Role:We are looking for a passionate and skilled teacher to join our education team where we are always striving to provide the highest quality of education and outcomes for our young people in preparation for adult life.It will be your responsibility will be to plan and deliver high quality teaching and learning within a meaningful and engaging curriculum that stretches and challenges all learners within your class.As a growing school for the right candidate there could be opportunities for career development and progression.Skills and Qualifications Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:

  • PGCE, QTS or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training
  • Working knowledge of the Teacher Standards and expectations
  • Knowledge and personal experience of SEN learning particularly sensory lead curriculums
  • Positive team working, being able to contribute to our established team
  • Diligence and accuracy in assessing, reporting and recording
  • The ability to lead and direct other adults supporting within the class
  • The role may require participation in physical intervention and personal care routines
