Registered Nurse Location: Meldreth, Nr. Royston, Cambridgeshire / HertfordshireSalary: £34,102 to £41,122 per annum (depending on skills and experience)Hours: 40 hours per week Full TimeOur exceptional client has a childrens home and school that is based in Meldreth near Royston. Seeking a Registered Nurse for their team. The provision provides education, care and therapeutic support for children and young people aged 9-19 years with severeand profound communication difficulties associated with conditions such as cerebral palsy, autism, brain injury and degenerative disorders.Sitting on a vast site, our client has some exceptional facilities such as a new hydrotherapy pool, caf and hub, rebound room, art and music rooms, landscaped gardens and so much more.Banding together as a family, this company continually strives to exceed expectations and to help staff grow and flourish both personally and professionally.The Role: Your role will be to ensure the ongoing health, safety and wellbeing of our children and young adults that are learning and living on site. Through the provision of high-quality, evidence-based healthcare that promotes and supports healthy living, lifestylesand offers continuous monitoring of pre-existing conditions to maintain optimum health.You will be expected to continually assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual healthcare needs and support the participation of the child or young person to contribute to the planning of their own healthcare support where appropriate.A key responsibility of your role will be to facilitate nurse led health clinics at the school and administer medication safely and effectively, maintaining accurate, clear and up to date records. There is an expectation to respond quickly to any varianceor deterioration in a child or young persons health, applying knowledge and skills to manage symptoms and seeking advice when required.Youll also be expected to ensure visiting clinicians attending the school are provided with up-to-date clinical information and reports as required.The role will give you a great opportunity to participate in standard setting, audit, data collection and quality reviews.Skills and experience required: The successful candidate will be an autonomous practitioner, an innovative and creative professional with excellent clinical and communication skills who is passionate and committed to supporting the health, well-being and skills development of childrenand young people and is likely to demonstrate the following:Current NMC Registration in one or more of the following disciplines: LD, RNMH, General Adult, Paediatrics at Diploma or Degree level Experience of working with as well as supporting the children and young people with special education needs and high-level support needs including behaviours that challenge, ASD, PMLD and SLD would be an advantage. Specialist clinical knowledge E.G.
