Overview and Responsibilities Night Support Worker - Orchard ManorLocation:Meldreth, Nr. Royston, Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire borderSalary: £11 - £12 per hour (linked to competency and qualifications) + a night supplement of £25 per night shift worked PLUS £1000 Welcome bonus*Annual Salary: £22,880 - £24,960 per year for a 40 hour weekHours:4 week rota pattern - average 40 hoursper week.No experience necessary, full training given and fully funded study for Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification.Aurora Orchard ManorWe are currently looking for aNight Support WorkerinMeldreth (South Cambridgeshire / North Hertfordshire border Nr Royston),where ourAurora Orchard Manor offers a supportive living and learning environmentfor young adults with severe and profound learning difficulties and complex health needs. With specialist facilities and a focus on promoting independence, we support each of our young people through the transition from education into adulthood with a focuson person-centred programmes to promote independence.We work with people with multiple disabilities who may have sensory and physical impairments who benefit from our specialist facilities that have been designed to meet their needs.Find out more about the amazing work we do - Supported Living Accommodation for Young Adults Meldreth, Cambridge (theauroragroup.co.uk)The Role:

  • Provide the highest level of care for our young adults
  • Assist with getting them ready for bed which includes washing and changing
  • Encouraging a healthy sleeping pattern where possible
  • Checking on them all throughout the night and dealing with any incidents that may occur
  • Ensuring that medical needs are met at all times
  • This is a waking night position; so in the quiet periods you will also be expected to get involved in some light housekeeping duties (such as loading the dishwasher, laundry and keeping the environment tidy).
  • In the morning youll then assist with supporting our young adults to get up, washed and dressed, ready for the day.
  • The key to this role will be your ability to communicate effectively, build trusting relationships and provide the support required to enable our young adults to become more autonomous.
Skills and Qualifications Although no experience is required, we are looking for candidatesto demonstrate:
  • Willingness to learn and to go the extra mile
  • Ability to guide and encourage supportive independence when possible
  • Exceptional communication skills and patience
  • Resilient with a robust and positive nature
  • Ability to be creative in meeting the needs of the young adults.
  • Must be able to complete 2 weeks full time induction (Monday to Friday 9am - 5.30pm) before starting night shifts
  • Ability to work on a rota patternwhich will include working every other weekend
