Job Description

  • *pro rata for part time staffRole & ResponsibilitiesAfter a successful completion of a probationary period of 6 months, the hourly rate will then increase to £10.00.
  • Support people with all aspects of daily living, including cooking, cleaning, shopping, meal prep, personal care etc.
  • Use the principles of Positive Behaviour Support to reduce occurrence of behaviours that challenge
  • Support people socially and to enjoy various hobbies and activities, like swimming or cycling
  • Develop outcome based support plan, risk assessment and person centered plan with the person supported and review and develop regularly
  • Assist with volunteering or employment opportunities
  • Enable person supported to develop new and maintain old friendships and relationships
  • Administer medication where required
  • Support with holidays, trips and days out and much much more
  • What we look for
  • You will need to be able to work flexibly which will include early mornings, evenings, bank holidays, weekends waking nights and sleep in shifts. An additional payment is paid per sleep in shift completed.
  • Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, complex mental health needs and challenging behaviours is essential
  • Previous experience or knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support is ideal
  • Good communication skills - the person we support is dependent on staff use of BSL and Makaton
  • Confident and able to manage difficult situations
