Job Description

A successful global manufacturing business supplying to major brands and OEMs, is currently seeking a Manufacturing Shift Supervisor for the night shift to supervise and motivate the Manufacturing team to ensure agreed production targets are met on all shiftson a continual basis.The company pride themselves on providing an excellent service and have strong core values. They have continued to grow during the pandemic, investing in new machinery to help cope with demand.Reporting into the Operations Director your duties as Manufacturing Shift Supervisor will include -

  • Ensuring the production plan is adhered to in the most efficient and effective way, with the minimum amount of scrap and rejects, liaising with the operations director to ensure that the most efficient and appropriate use of resource.
  • Assisting shift setters in developing processes to provide better quality, higher efficiency and reduced development time.
  • Assisting with the implementation of lean manufacturing techniques into the extrusion department to ensure that agreed company key performance indicators are consistently achieved. Continuously improving workforce/processes to improve efficiencies and providezero defects.
  • Training & development of the manufacturing team in line with business needs..
  • Ensuring all 5s and housekeeping standards are maintained monitored on a continual basis.
To be successful in the role of Manufacturing Shift Supervisor the ideal candidate will -
  • Have experience of working in a plastics manufacturing environment such as blow moulding, injection moulding or plastic extrusion.
  • Have previously supervised teams of 15-20
  • Good understanding of Lean/Continuous, 5s, process improvement, scrap reduction.
  • Preferably have knowledge of quality procedures ISO9001, TS16949 and ISO14001
