Job Description

JOB TITLE: Fire and Security Estimator & SurveyorLOCATION: PeterboroughTHE COMPANY: Well established Electrical Firm, supplying Fire & Security Systems Nationwide. Specialists within the social housing sector.THE ROLE: Fire & Security EstimatorPACKAGE: Up to £50,000 basicMAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducting surveying duties whilst on site visits
  • Studying proposals, drawings, specs and all related documents to prepare works to be estimated
  • Compiling costs by analysing materials, time requirements and labour
  • Maintaining a costs database
  • Sending out enquiries in preparation for estimates
  • Attend pre-start & handover meetings with clients / managers, contract review & key account meetings
  • Assist the bid team with the tendering and bid submissions
  • Review strategic opportunities and agree on action plans for progression with Business Development Director & Bid Team
  • Establish and execute monthly reports
  • Liaise with operations and project teams to generate accurate quotations for works.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Proven experience in the role of Quantity Surveyor / Estimator role within the Fire & Security, or Electrical.
  • NEC 3 / 4 Experience
  • JCT Experience
  • A full UK Drivers License
  • Strong attention to detail with analytical skills, ensuring accurate estimations.
  • Proven ability to build & maintain strong relationships
  • Experience in managing internal and external stakeholders
  • Good understanding of costs and KPIs
  • Strong commercial awareness with an understanding / experience of social housing & commercial works.
