Job Description

We are looking for an experienced IT professional eager to take the next steps in their career. The ideal candidate should not be afraid to challenge the status quo and should be as comfortable with cloud technologies as they are with on-prem systems.As a Senior IT Engineer, youll work within a highly engaged IT operations team to deliver first class support to internal customers whilst ensuring all IT systems remain highly available and secure. You will contribute to both internal improvement projectsas well as large scale business-wide technology projects, supporting the business rapid growth.In this role you will be challenged to continuously innovate and learn as we strive towards a cloud first strategy with an emphasis on automation and self-service.At Bluetree Group we like to move fast and try things, if you think you can help us move faster, wed love to hear from you.Responsibilities:

  • Managing an internal Service Desk, helping the team deliver first class support to internal customers and maintaining all SLAs
  • Ensuring IT infrastructure remains secure and highly available
  • Managing, installing and configuringimpactful IT systems
  • Monitoring end-to-end system performance
  • Contributing to both internal and business-wide projects
  • Troubleshooting service outages and providing root cause analysis
  • Managing large scale virtual and physical workstation deployments
  • Ensuring security through access controls, backups and firewalls
  • Upgrading systems with new software updates and patches
  • Advocating good IT practices and principles
Required Skills:
  • Proven experience as an IT Support Engineer, System Administrator,Network Administratoror similar role
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Windows Server 2012/16/19 and Active Directory Administration
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP networking, switching, routing and firewalls
  • Working knowledge of Hyper-V and other Virtualization technologies
  • Understanding of Backup, Recovery and DR best practices
  • Experience in customer facing roles
  • Ability to write scripts in Python, PowerShell or other language
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus
Desirable skills:
  • Infrastructure as code - Terraform or other
  • Configuration management - Puppet, chef, ansible or other
  • Containerisation - Docker, Kubernetes
  • Source code management - Git
  • Linux & MacOS
  • Cloud technologies - Azure, AWS, GCP
  • Monitoring tools - Datadog or similar
  • Jira Service Desk
  • AVG
  • ITIL certification
