Job Description

With over 400 employees, we have departments ranging from production to sales, artwork to customer service and marketing to finance.Here’s where you come in: We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our busy Quality and Compliance team, working Monday to Friday 09:00-17:30. Some flexibility around these hours may be necessary to suit business requirements.The Health and Safety Manager will co-ordinate, support and advise the Business on all aspects with regards to Health and Safety. You will be required to establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health and Safety are adhered to. You will need to work with all areas of the business to deliver continuous improvement in health and safety practice and a positive Health and Safety Culture.The key responsibilities of the role are to:

  • Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
  • Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations.
  • Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated and recommended improvements implemented.
  • Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk assessments and lone working procedures are managed and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Co-ordinate the development of health & safety policies, systems of work and procedures.
  • Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business.
  • Deliver continuous improvement in all Health and Safety systems, processes and performance in all of the above mentioned areas.
  • Implement and Deliver Certification to ISO 45001 or similar H&S system.
  • This list is not exhaustive and the candidate will be required to carry out any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.
  • If successful, you will undergo a comprehensive company and department induction programme.Essential Skills
  • At least 3 years recent and relevant experience in a similar role
  • NEBOSH (General Certificate) qualified
  • COSHH Trained
  • Experience in provision of advice to managers/supervisors
  • Handling of H&S investigations
  • Experience of formulating, implementing and revising H&S policies and procedures
  • Desirable Skills
  • NEBOSH Diploma
  • Member of institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH)
  • Experience with ISO 45001:2018 or similar H&S standard
