There are a number of benefits that you’ll access being a part of our inclusive team including flexi time, 27.5 days holiday (with an additional 6 days flexi time), civil service pension scheme, gym membership contribution, and professional membership.Our Sustainability Delivery Manager role:The sustainability team is a small team that cuts across the Coal Authority, working with all departments to deliver our sustainability goals including:- net zero carbon by 2030;- embedding sustainability into all business cases and decision making;- providing biodiversity net gain on our property; and- developing the way we use resources and manage waste, including removal of all single use plastics where alternatives are available.Although a small team, the portfolio of work is wide and delivered by a large virtual team of people across the organisation. In order to help make this happen you will need to have excellent people and communication skills, working with many internally and externally to achieve common goals.Responsibilities of our Sustainability Delivery Manager:- Develop and implement process with the Sustainability Manager and PMO for delivering the sustainability plans- Work with the business to design SMART metrics and baseline for each area of implementation- Represent the Coal Authority, its visions, values and sustainability aims and aspirations to external bodies including through meetings, articles, presentations and conferences- Champion our approach and learn from others, sharing ideas to optimise outcomes and identify opportunities- Undertake and manage research from the Business Intelligence team into activities taking place across government, organisations and other strategic stakeholders in the sustainability field- Identifying key activities, themes, trends, risks, issues and opportunities- Analysing information and providing relevant recommendations, including around future engagement and funding opportunities- Providing both ad-hoc briefings for the Sustainability Manager and senior managersWhat we’re looking for in ourSustainability Delivery Manager:- Degree in Science or engineering- Developing clear scopes of work for projects and procurement activities- Managing multiple stakeholders to identify key drivers and develop good relationships to avoid blockages and work towards common goals- Experience in undertaking research, analysing results and providing recommendations for managers- Political awareness and judgement, understanding of wider sustainability agendas in governmental and non-governmental organisations and related issues- Working in science or engineering based field involving analysing, managing and reporting data- Excellent research, planning and organisational skills- Exceptional attention to detail- Ability to work at pace- Strong interpersonal and communications skills- Positive team worker, with the ability to manage othersIf you believe you are the right candidate for the role as our Sustainability Delivery Manager then please click ‘apply’ now!
