Job Description

Metalis are working with a well established global organisation who are one of the leading manufacturers within their field, based in Mansfield. They are looking to add to their team by recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer on a permanent full time basis.Duties:

  • Reporting to the engineering manager, the maintenance engineer will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of mechanical components and systems such as pressure vessels, pneumatic controls, heat exchange units along with pipe fitting.
  • Able to respond to machine breakdowns in order to reduce downtime and increase productivity.
  • Working with the maintenance team, able to repair, service and fault find on a range of machinery.
  • Ability to use a centre lathe, MIG/MMA welding gear, bending press, band saw, milling machine and pillar drill.
  • Follow current health & safety legislation and have a strong sense of safety awareness.
Ideal candidate:
  • Apprentice trained with a relevant City & Guilds or HNC/HND qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Proven mechanical engineering background, gained within a production/manufacturing background.
  • Able to make a positive contribution to the engineering team.
What is on offer:
  • Salary circa £31,000 including shift allowance.
  • Shifts as follows; 7am - 3pm, 8am - 4pm, 3pm - 11pm (NO NIGHTS).
  • 37 holidays per year
