Job Description

Eventus Legal are seeking a Housing Solicitor to join the Housing department of a legal firm in Mansfield.This full-time role will be varied and challenging, where you will work on your own caseload of General Litigation cases including Residential Landlord and Tenant cases. Previous experience in Legal Aid work and Residential Landlord and Tenant work would be beneficial. The successful candidate will be expected to deal with all aspects of the matter from initial enquiry through to completion.Role responsibilitiesWe are looking for a housing law solicitor to join a talented and diverse Housing. You will be working in a team committed to social justice with a wealth of expertise in litigation on behalf of vulnerable clients from the County Court to the Supreme Court.

  • Professional pro-active approach, strong client care skills and a sensitive and sympathetic understanding of clients’ needs
  • Responsible for all aspects of Litigation work and on occasions, where appropriate providing technical expertise and guidance to other team members
  • Ability to manage appropriate caseload types and complexities
  • Attending clients, taking instructions and preparing cases
  • Dealing with correspondence
  • Maintaining accurate time costing procedures
  • Implementing any recommendations made by your supervisor following monthly file reviews ensuring that these are dealt with promptly
  • Ensuring compliance with file management.
  • Dealing with all areas of social housing law including disrepair, possession, injunction and homelessness
  • Fostering referral networks in the Nottinghamshire area and helping to develop the office.

  • Have a passion for publically funded work
  • Attention to detail and the confidence to work independently as well as in a team
  • Solicitor with 1-5 years PQE
  • Solid experience in housing law.
  • Excellent client care skills
  • IT proficiency
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and remain calm whilst under pressure
