Job Description

Compliance Officer / Coordinator

  • Permanent
  • Mansfield, Nottinghamshire
  • Monday - Friday 37.5 hours
  • Salary circa £27-30,000
  • To take responsibility of the Regulatory Affairs & Compliance System by reviewing and ensuring compliance to all relevant legislation, related guidelines, and customer requirements. This role is purely admin, regulatory, audit and compliance based to support the Quality Manager. To coordinate, administer, maintain, highlight non-compliance and supporting activity to ensure compliance of the Quality, Hygiene, Safety systems.Duties and responsibilities as a Compliance Coordinator:
  • Management of the Regulatory Compliance System with respect to food contact, keep abreast of changes to current EU legislation and changes to UK legislation
  • Legislations include, but not limited to:
  • 1935/2004 - Materials and Articles intended to come into contact with Food,
  • 10/2011 - Plastic Materials and Articles intended to come into contact with Food,
  • 2023/2006 - Good Manufacturing Practice for Materials & Articles intended to contact with Food
  • 94/62 - Packing and Packaging Waste Regulations
  • 1907/2006 - Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACh)
  • Food Safety Act 1990
  • Ensure compliance data, traceability, product declaration due diligence is accurate, up-to-date and shared across business and with customers, as required
  • Maintain up-to-date regulatory compliance records for all raw materials
  • Obtain, evaluate, and approve regulatory compliance records for all new raw materials – identifying migration requirements
  • Obtain, manage, and issue absence (or otherwise) declarations for substances of concern, as required
  • Management of Regulatory of Compliance and/or Absence Declarations (including BPA, Phthalates, PFAS/PFAO/PFOS, GMO, Animal, Recycled Materials, SVHC, Allergens)
  • Carry out regular reviews regarding the migration status (OM/SML/NIAS/Organoleptic) of each polymer/colorant and arrange for appropriate testing to be carried out
  • To liaise, support, communicate and co-ordinate with site personnel, to support the assurance and upkeep of compliance processes (9001, BRCGs, Safety etc.).
  • Report any concerns to regulation to Quality Manager and other appropriate Senior Management
  • Carry out Microbiological testing
