Exciting Opportunity: Club Steward / Stewardess!Location: Pleasley, Derbyshire / Nottinghamshire BorderAre you a dynamic and experienced individual looking for a rewarding challenge Pleasley Miners Club, a cornerstone of the former mining village community since 1925, is inviting applications for the position of Club Steward / Stewardess. The current post holder, after 20 years of dedicated service, will be stepping downin mid-January, paving the way for fresh leadership.We require a steward or stewardess with partner to assist, the partner would be paid the living wage rate for hours worked. We do not want only one person. The accommodation consists of 2 bedrooms, kitchen, lounge, dinning room, bathroom with overbath shower, separate toilet and outside space / rooftop area.About Pleasley Miners ClubNestled on the Derbyshire / Nottinghamshire border, Pleasley Miners Club boasts a vibrant history and a membership of over 750 individuals. Our welcoming facilities include a lounge, a fully-equipped bar area featuring pool and snooker tables, dart boards,and various function rooms. Additionally, we have a small kitchen area and a private car park. The club stands as a testament to community spirit and continues to be a hub for social activities.Social Calendar Highlights:

  • Indoor games

  • Bingo three nights a week
Our versatile function room is available for private bookings, accommodating events such as private parties, wedding receptions, funerals, and more, extending beyond our regular opening hours.Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Club Steward / Stewardess, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the club under the guidance of the Committee / Trustees. Key responsibilities include bar and cellar management, staff supervision, stocktaking, till reconciliation,and routine tasks ensuring the seamless operation of the club.Key Requirements:The ideal candidate will possess:
  • At least two years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong social skills
  • Energy and ambition
  • Familiarity with IT, including Electronic Point of Sale systems
  • Valid Full UK Drivers License
What We Offer:
  • This is a full-time position, and flexibility is required as part of the role
  • A competitive salary, commensurate with experience, will be offered
  • The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to develop a limited bar food service
  • The position includes on-site accommodation with utilities, excluding council tax

Employment will commence on a mutually agreeable date, with a relief steward in place during the transition period.
