Job Description

Youth Support WorkerRole location: AudenshawStarting date: ImmediateSalary: £1,350-£1,600Monday-Friday 8:30am-3:30pmEmpowering Learning are working with a school within Audenshaw, we are currently recruiting for a youth support worker to help provide a holistic, bespoke curriculum with rich learning opportunities that enable young people to develop their functional lifeskills to experience a high quality of life.The ideal youth worker will help children and young people with special educational needs by assisting teachers to create the best environment and suitable lessons for the pupils, as the children find it difficult to learn because of a disability, healthissue, family circumstances that have disrupted their education, or social, emotional, and behavioural factors.You will assist with schoolwork, prepare learning materials, work alongside the young people to help them access the curriculum in an alternative way. You will also be required to encourage children to communicate, whilst supporting them during all schoolingactivities.To be considered for the role, you require patience and sensitivity, as you will comfort the children when they are upset and encourage them to be confident and independent. The young people within the SEND school have severe or complex disabilities, andyou will work on a 1-1 basis with a child.We are seeking a youth centre support worker to join immediately. The role is extremely challenging yet fulfilling as everyday will be different.
