Job Description

Zachary Daniel Recruitment are delighted to be partnered with this iconic lifestyle and sportswear brand, supporting them in the recruitment of a WordPress Developer to join their existing team at their offices on the outskirts of Manchester.As a WordPress Developer, you will be responsible for both back-end and front end development including but not limited to creating WordPress themes and plugins.Working under their Ecommerce umbrella you will work closely with other developers, marketing experts as well as their sales and customer services team, helping create unforgettable online journeys and delivering best in class websites and applications.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing new features and functionality
  • Establishing and guiding the websites architecture
  • Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
  • Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and/or plugin.
  • Helping mentor junior members of the team.
  • Performing website updates
  • Maintaining an understanding of the latest Web applications and programming practices through education, study, and participation in conferences, workshops, and groups.
  • Identifying problems uncovered by customer feedback and testing, and correcting or referring problems to appropriate personnel for correction.
  • Evaluating code to ensure it meets industry standards, is valid, is properly structured, and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems.
  • Determining user needs by analysing technical requirements.
    • About You:
  • Proven work experience as a WordPress Developer.
  • Knowledge of WooCommerce and Advanced Custom Fields plugins.
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies including CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, and jQuery.
  • Strong knowledge of PHP.
  • Knowledge of code versioning tools including Git, Mercurial, and SVN.
  • Experience working with debugging tools such as Chrome Inspector and Firebug.
  • Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics.
  • Ability to project manage.
  • Dedicated team player.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid ability in both written and verbal communication.
  • Able to develop ideas and processes and clearly express them.
  • High degree of independent judgement.
  • Able to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to work independently or with a group.
