Wellbeing Co-ordinator - HelplineManchester, Greater ManchesterThe Organisation Nationally significant and focused on a fair and equal society, our client is a charity supporting the needs of people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans.Our client is now looking for a Wellbeing Co-ordinator to join them on a permanent, full-time basis.The Benefits- Salary of £27,651 per annum- Company pension (10%)- Generous leave allowance of 25 days plus Bank Holidays- Staff counselling scheme- Free annual flu jab- Agile working to support a healthy work/life balance- Your birthday as a day’s leave- Staff counselling scheme- Cycle to Work / Technology Scheme- Season ticket loan- Office buddy’ scheme for all new starters- Staff social budget- Dedicated training budget for each member of staff and support with personal development plans- Flexible working to support a healthy work/life balance (including time off in lieu and flexi-time)- Relaxed dress codeThis is an incredible opportunity for a compassionate individual with experience supporting individuals with varying levels of need and a background in a service delivery role to join our client’s impactful organisation.You’ll have the chance to be part of an innovative helpline service that goes beyond traditional support, contributing to the development of services that are not only responsive to immediate needs but also forward-thinking, addressing emerging trends and complexitieswithin the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans community.So, if you want to join our client in advocating for mental health awareness, reducing stigma and creating a safe space where individuals can seek support without judgment, then apply today.The RoleAs a Wellbeing Co-ordinator, you will provide operational support to our client’s helpline service.Assisting the helpline team, you will provide emotional support, brief advice, interventions and signposting to individuals contacting our client’s helpline services via calls and emails.You will also review the service offer and procedures within the helpline service, create and implement a development plan and continue to increase the wider offer of the service.Additionally, you will line manage, support, train, and develop staff, sessional workers, student social workers and volunteers.Your role will also involve:- Ensuring all records of interaction within the helpline service are recorded- Supporting admin processes- Providing training and shadowing opportunities to team members- Working with our client’s volunteer programme to increase the number of helpline volunteersAbout YouTo be considered as a Wellbeing Co-ordinator, you will need:- Experience supporting individuals with varying levels of need- Experience working in a service delivery role with volunteers- Experience communicating with people who are distressed and/or have barriers to communication- Experience producing risk assessments and safety plans- Experience providing training and support to staff, volunteers or students- An understanding of safeguarding legislation, procedures and structures- Knowledge of mental health and wellbeing principles- An understanding of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans communities and their needs- The ability to deal calmly and confidently with emotional and difficult situations- Effective and adaptable communication and interpersonal skills- Proficiency in ITThe closing date for this role is 13th November 2023.Other organisations may call this role Wellbeing Officer, Wellbeing Associate, Wellbeing Support Officer, Support Officer, Community Officer, or Community Support Officer.Webrecruit and our clients are equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment.
