Job Description

VAT AnalystLocation: Manchester or LondonLength: 6 monthsRate: £240-256 per day (inside IR35)Hours: 9am-6pmThe team are responsible for the filing of VAT returns for a number of companies within the our clients group in Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg. The candidate will assist in this process and other sporadic projects as and when they arise.Job Responsibilities:

  • Each month the candidate would need to assist with the extraction of and analysis of the data needed to prepare the relevant VAT returns. Data sets are large and require excellent Excel skills to effectively manage the data. Testing of transactions is carriedout and exploration of transactions with wider teams completed. After analysis is completed, VAT returns are compiled and submitted.
  • Experience of reconciling VAT accounts to GL balances would be beneficial but not essential.
  • VAT returns include businesses that sell goods and services, including electronic services B2C and B2C, domestic and cross border.
  • The candidate does not need to have knowledge of VAT legislation in Belgium, Netherlands or Luxembourg but this would be beneficial. However, knowledge of EU VAT is essential (e.g. concepts of reverse charge, Intrastat, EC sales listings).
  • The role requires balancing a number of different returns, thinking outside the box and proactive solving issues in preparation of VAT returns and dealing with large data.
Skills:Minimum 2 years experience working in VAT, preparing and submitting VAT returns and associated filings. Experience with EU VAT rules and concepts. Experience with working in ExcelInterested Please apply today!
