UX/UI Designer Location: Wilmslow, Cheshire Full-time, permanent Salary: £30,000 to £40,000We are Citation Group. If the prospect of this excites you good, youre the right type of person for us.The roleYou will play a key role in evolving the direction of Citations group digital products and software platforms. Were looking for a passionate UI designer who has a good understanding of UX and how digital product evolves through agile, iterative, user-centricdesign. Youll bring your own ideas and listen to those of others to carefully evaluate design proposals through user-interviews and team collaboration. Make no mistake - youll wear the UI superhero cape to bring design flare to this product mix.You will focus on the appearance and usability of our products and interactive platforms. You will combine hard and soft skills, including technical, teamwork and interpersonal skills to become a key member of our team.As a designer that lives in the digital UI space, you will apply technical knowledge, design elements and creativity to develop and integrate attractive and responsive designs. You will have developed these skills through practical experience that you can demonstrateand describe confidently.Along the way, youll help define how UI design is fully integrated within our product development process and how well best include your working practices in our day-to-day operations.As a UI designer, youll need to:* Create UI designs with attractive features, enticing visuals and responsive interface elements.* Demonstrate an awareness of softer design elements like textures, colour gradients and font styles to create designs that support business objectives and engage with user audiences. * Show an ability to identify and improve on small but important elements to demonstrate quality in your designs.* Apply your problem-solving skills in collaboration with colleagues and clients to achieve successful results - working with others to resolve conflicts or disagreements.* Liaise with our UX Lead and Researcher to understand requirements for UI designs from ideation sketches and wireframes - to ultimately create high-fidelity pixel-perfect designs and prototypes. * Participate in our end-to-end iterative product process from requirements gathering through to full build and testing where you will champion the quality control of UI design.* Consider all existing Citation applications and evaluate the effectiveness of their UI. A broader objective is for you to contribute to aligning all our digital products visually and interactively - to be recognisable as one single world-class brand.* Design interaction models and user task flows that consider and specify the softer aspects of UI design, such as interaction states, subtle behaviours and animations.* Develop and contribute to a detailed UI Design Style Guide to support our brand guidelines.* Have great verbal communication skills, as youll be comfortable presenting your designs to various stakeholders and receiving feedback and discussing and acting upon this as required.* Collaborate with the wider product and engineering teams to ensure all designs are implemented accurately, considering any technical constraints and adjusting designs elegantly to accommodate these.* Be comfortable creating and presenting pixel-perfect reports that show where the UI implementation doesnt match the exacting standards of the UI design visual.* Be confident enough to make recommendations on how we remain aligned to UI design trends that can be clearly justified whilst being critically sympathetic to our user base and their needs.We are looking for some who has * A passion for user-centric design and innovation.* A creative flair for design and a zealous advocate for aesthetics within a product environment.* The ability to think creatively with a strong portfolio of design projects.* Proficient in design software (e.g. Adobe CC, Adobe XD, Figma, UXPin, Balsamiq) although were open to providing the software tools that you prefer to use. After all youre the expert! * Accuracy and attention to detail - however small that slight outer-glow on rollover might seem to a non-designer to you it is paramount and adds to overall UX!* An understanding of the latest UI trends and self-development skills. You keep your finger on the pulse of UI and this informs your work.* A professional approach to deadlines. * Operates with ease in a fast-paced and demanding business.* Understanding of Agile ways of working and Sprint based development. * Coordinate with developers to ensure accurate communication and efficiency in the design/development handover.If you are still reading this, it says our culture is for you.
