Job Description

New role: Underwriter - Professional Indemnity - Manchester basedWe are seeking a skilled and ambitious individual to join this Specialist Insurer to help set up their Manchester office. They are looking for an experienced Underwriter specialising in Professional Indemnity. This role provides a unique opportunity fora seasoned professional to make a significant impact, working independently with the support of the London team, with the potential for substantial growth as the business expands in the region.Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate risks within the defined appetite, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Utilising sophisticated tools, collaborating with the pricing team, and maintaining accurate pricing data.
  • Issue and reference policy documentation, ensuring precision and compliance.
  • Strengthen existing broker ties and establish new relationships to broaden their network in this region.
  • Process underwritten business accurately, adhering to agreed procedures and timeframes.
  • Participate in market committees, events, and conferences to enhance market presence.
  • Understand core PI wordings, collaborate with the team to ensure alignment with risk appetite.
  • Attend quarterly meetings to evaluate portfolio performance.

  • Contribute to Development: Be a part of ongoing development in the PI Team, contributing to pricing tools.
Education and Experience:
  • CII Qualified: or significant progress towards completion.
  • Previous PI Experience: Bring your valuable experience in Professional Indemnity.
