Job Description

UK Product Specialist: Clinical ProductsLocation: Mainland UK, home and field based (requires good access to main motorway network)Up to £48k + £15k bonus + car + pension and benefitsSummary:As a clinical applications specialist, you will be responsible for product evaluation and validation, responding to the field-based issues of your customers.   • Multi-tasking position involving the clinical evaluation and sale of POC (Point of Care)and HBTA (Hospital Blood Testing Analysers) products (blood gas analysers)
  • Performs on-site application studies for POC and HBTA products.
  • Onsite application activities include correlation to alternative reference methods, precision studies, bench-top interference studies, and linearity studies.
  • Reviews, prepares data outputs, and presents performance data obtained during the above onsite applications studies to various buying interests and prospective customers.
  • Works with new customers after the sale to streamline validation requirements for POC strip based products and blood gas analysers to ensure a successful and smooth transition to this technology.
  • Manage all tender submissions for HBTA & POC, driving tender specifications.
  • Interfaces with field sales representatives to develop their qualified leads and convert them into sales, responsible for the sales and growth of POC and HBTA in the respective territory.
  • Interfaces with Medical Directors, Nursing Staff, Point-of-Care Coordinators, Laboratory Directors and Administration of Major Medical Centres, University Hospitals and Ambulance Services to promote and sell the POC and HBTA range of products
  • Identifies and develops opportunities for new channels e.g. pharmacy chains
  • When necessary, performs onsite customer training for new POC instrument installations
  • Supports Scientific Marketing Studies conducted in collaboration with Scientific Affairs department, reviewing protocol details with the customer. Ensures adherence to the protocols throughout the study.
  • Identify and develop Key Opinion Leaders for POC and HBTA products
  • Responsible for co-coordinating and delivering seminars and webinars to customers working closely with UK Marketing & Promotions Specialist
  • Requires the ability to understand and educate end users on application issues and possess the ability to perform data analysis in support of clinical applications department objectives.
  • Periodically assist in application matters on blood gas analysers
  • Develops training materials for Clinical Training Team
  • Works closely with UK Support Manager to resolve customer issues related to product performance
  • Ability to act as a resource to field support peers.
    • Reporting Relationships
  • Reports directly to the UK General Manager
  • Works closely with European - Marketing Director, Scientific Affairs Director and Service Director in an overall plan to promote, demonstrate and sell StatStrip
  • Works closely with UK Support Manager to resolve customer issues
  • Works closely with Area Sales Manager to develop sales opportunities
  • Works closely with UK Marketing & Promotions Specialist to deliver webinars, seminars and develop KOL’s
