The role will report directly into the Group Tax Vice President and take the lead and be responsible for all taxation matters within our Europe (excluding France) region.Based in the UK, you will work closely with both the UK and international finance and legal teams, partnering with tax specialist for the other regions and manage relationships with external audit, tax and advisory firms when required.Responsibilities will include

  • Providing detailed tax advice and optimising the tax position on restructuring projects for Europe, such as internal reorganisations, acquisitions and disposals and refinancing
  • Tax audit supportUK and Europe
  • Contract review to limit exposure to withholding tax and VAT costs for both UK & Europe.
  • Answer all ad-hoc tax related queries from the finance teams in the region.
  • Liaise with colleagues and overseas offices on specific advisory projects
  • Manage compliance with the EU regulatory framework for Europe
  • Withholding tax management for both UK & Europe
  • Responsible for filing all UK corporate tax returns, including managing external partners, reviewing returns and ensuring all claims made optimise the positions within the UK and undertaking reviews of specific aspects of legislation inhouse
  • Manage tax payments and cash collection where refunds are due
  • Manage compliance with UK regulatory framework
  • Sign off tax notes in UK statutory accounts and liaise with auditors
  • Keep up to date with UK tax law changes and inform finance teams
  • Support Head Office with review of consolidation reporting tax packages for May Closing, Half Year and Year End
  • Support Head Office with update of Tax Audit and Litigation Mapping in June and December
  • Point of contact with Corporate Finance Committee in case of additional request for some internal reorganizations in Europe
  • Support Head Office on the review of tax losses and liaise with local team to investigate options to optimize their utilization with positive cash impact
Who we are looking for We are looking for a Chartered Tax Advisor or Accountant with a minimum of 10 years practice experience in a big four and/or international group.
