Job Description

The Transport Planner will be responsible for creating and monitoring transport plans, ensuring SLAs are met and deliveries arrive with customers. This role will also require knowledge of transport regulations, with a clear focus on compliance in relationto drivers and drivers hours.Client DetailsThe client distribute home ware goods out to trade and to customers using their own fleet of vehicles.DescriptionThe key responsibilities for the role of Transport Planner in Manchester will be:

  • Planning routes for vehicles in line with WTD and customer SLAs.
  • Managing transport compliance, factoring drivers hours into plans.
  • Tracking vehicles and amending plans on the day.
  • Dealing with customers and any enquiries regarding delivery times.
  • Ensuring all plans are productive and fuel costs are in line.
ProfileThe successful candidate for the role of Transport Planner in Manchester will have:
  • Experience in transport planning.
  • A strong background in transport.
  • The ability to work methodically whilst under pressure.
  • Great time management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of transport regulations and compliance.
Job OfferThe successful candidate for the role of Transport Planner in Manchester will receive:
  • A salary of up to £26,000 p/a DOE.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • A Monday to Friday work schedule, working one weekend in three.
