Job Description

As part of the Capita Group transformation program, Capita Software is changing from a collection of individual P&L businesses to a consolidated Software Division, providing software development and support services to all of Capita. These services will be provided by the Digital Development Centre through its teams based in India, UK and Ireland.As part of this consolidation circa 1000 development and support roles have been identified as in-scope to move into Capita Software from other divisions in the Capita Group. The initial transition is planned to take place in early 2021 and will be followed by a period of analysis and transformation to fully integrate colleagues into the DDC and its ways of working.The Project Manager will be responsible for managing multiple teams through the transition process. Duties associated with this position include monitoring project timelines and budgets, allocating project resources and motivating and managing the project teams members, progress reporting, managing change and ensure deadlines are met in a timely and effective fashion.What you will do:

  • End-to-end ownership of transitioning multiple teams into the DDC;
  • Maintaining the delivery of all services during transition;
  • Implementing a temporary structure, reporting into the Transition Director, to receive the teams;
  • Analysing teams and the service they provide to define the most effective and cost-efficient method of delivering the service, including moving UK & Ireland based roles to India where client requirements allow;
  • Planning and managing the integration of the teams into the main Indian and UK & Ireland DDC structures;
  • Documenting existing delivery and support methodologies and migrating all teams to the agreed Capita Software methodologies e.g. Evolve, Agile, ITIL, etc.
  • Documenting existing tools and migrating all teams to the agreed Capita Software tool set e.g. ADO, White Source, etc;
  • Identifying and delivering cost savings.
  • What were looking for:
  • Experience of managing the transition of development and support teams between business units;
  • Experience of transforming development and support teams to use new tools and processes, and to work across multiple locations;
  • Extensive and wide-ranging job experience in project management
  • Experience and understanding of all areas of project management including risk and issue management and change management;
  • Experience and understanding of all areas of analysis, testing and data migration;
  • Ability to communicate at all levels (as required)
