Job Description

A large and diverse team of highly skilled technicians ensure the optimal functioning of specialist spaces to deliver an exceptional student experience. Working in specialist laboratories, workshops, studios, resource centres and IT facilities, our technicalprofessionals play a key role supporting, guiding and advising students across our university from sciences, art, design and technology, through to sports, ceramics, nursing and physiotherapy.The successful candidate will have experience of managing the day-to-day operations of a diverse technical team, providing technical leadership, mentoring and taking responsibility for the effective running of the services, supporting student learning, teaching,research and enterprise activities. You are a proficient and practicing Ceramics specialist with a proven record of accomplishment, able to provide technical advice and training to Undergraduate and Postgraduate students. You will have experience of line managinga team, a positive and flexible approach to your work, be able to inspire others and undertake technical leadership and management of projects and initiatives within the team.
