Technical Sales Executive - Fixings & Fasteners Job Title: Technical Sales Executive -Power tools,Fixings, Adhesives, consumables & FastenersIndustry Sector: Construction, Power Tools, Fixings, Fastenings, Contractors, Main Contractors, Sub-contractors, Contractors, Specialist Contractors, Construction Engineers, Civil Engineers, Structural Engineers, Technical Sales, Sales Executive, Area Sales ManagerArea to be covered: London OR Midlands OR North West OR ScotlandRemuneration: £33,000 - £45,000 + commission giving OTE circa £60,000 - £100,000 Benefits: company car, laptop, mobile + benefitsThe role Technical Sales Executive - Fixings & Fasteners will involve:

  • Field sales position selling a high quality range of fixings, fastenings, power tools, power tool accessories and hand tools
  • Selling to main contractors from the largest in the industry downwards, and specialist sub-contractors across housebuilding, industrial and commercial construction projects
  • Majority of your time will be spent generating new business and developing the relationship where the service and knowledge becomes more important than the price
  • Inheriting a patch that suits your location and/or travel preferences
  • Dealing with a wide range of order values
  • Understanding the construction application and requirements of the customer and then identifying the appropriate products for the specific application
  • Attending the relevant training courses to ensure that you have a finger on the pulse’ understanding of the market
  • The ideal applicant will be a Technical Sales Executive - Fixings & Fasteners
  • Must have demonstrable track record within technical construction field sales
  • A strong construction engineering background / qualification with the desire to get into field sales will be considered
  • Ideally in the construction fixings, fasteners, power tools and accessories and construction consumables sectors.
  • Previous experience selling power tools and power tool accessories would be an advantage but is not essential
  • An understanding of the different trades in the construction market, market trends and the desire to make sure the business remains ahead of its competitors
  • Skills to spot an opportunity within a sales pitch, for example assessing equipment on a site and highlighting the benefits of alternative products to do the job quicker, more cost-efficiently or quicker
  • Strong negotiation skills with an analytical mindset ensuring you pay attention to the finer details of products/sales
