Job Description

Role: Technical Operations Centre EngineerLocation: ManchesterSalary: £33,000 + 20% shift allowanceWe are currently working with one of the UKs leading network providers, specialist in telecoms and Unified communication as a service who are on the hunt for an experienced network engineer to join their growing Technical operations centre.This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation where they focus on the progression and development of their staff. You will be a senior figure in the operation centre assisting with managerial duties and being a point of escalation for technicalrequirements.The role:

  • Experience of using network monitoring tools (e.g., Zenoss, Nagios, SolarWinds, Transmode)
  • Liaising with 3rd party suppliers, logging tickets and tracking progress through 3rd party portals.
  • Experience of change management
  • Set-up of the MSO (Major Service Outage) and ensuring correct resources attend, performing regular checks on the estate and providing updates to the audience.
  • Provide cover for the Duty Manager as and when required.
  • Handle multiple concurrent tasks with minimal supervision and excellent attention to detail.
The individual:
  • Cisco CCNP / Juniper JNCP / ITIL related qualifications or experience in working in an ITIL support environment.
  • Experienced with SIP technologies
  • Experience of managing Data services in multiple Data Centres.
  • Experience of working as an Escalation for Engineering resources.
  • SolarWinds/Zenoss/Cisco/Juniper/Palo Alto/Fortigate/ SIP (Ribbon/Oracle/Metaswitch
