Whats great is that this position plays a key role in ensuring that we not only reach our goals in the web development space but as a wider engineering practice, at a healthypace.We are looking for someone with complete technical proficiency, both in Java development with extensive experience designing and building Microservices, and in React with experience in building components to consume and utilise Microservices. You will alsohave skills, knowledge and expertise in building data pipelines or ETL .Additionally, you have a track-record of leading, mentoring and coaching a team of Engineers, empowering them to use modern development standards, technologies and best practice techniques.Whats in it for you

What will you do as an Technical Lead at N Brown

• Proven experience providing technical leadership including growing a team of high-performing developers
• A sound ability to help us shape a future-fit strategy and technology roadmap for the web space
• Passion for well designed, testable and efficient code using design patterns and quality development principles
• Experience in developing high quality, scalable and secure Java applications and services, using microservice/distributed systems architecture
• Experience in building robust, high quality React components to consume data from, and provide data to, microservices.
• Skills and knowledge in developing data pipelines or ETL processes.
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) using Unit Testing and Mocking to produce highly automated build processes
• Knowledge of Relational and Document-Oriented Databases
• Lead the build and set up of development standards alongside other technical leads
• Ability to remove obstacles and keep the team motivated to bring their best selves to work everyday
• Able to liaise and interact with 3rd party service providers to ensure maximum benefit from their offering.
• Someone who can keep it real, both from a people and technology perspective; youll respect and appreciate legacy systems and processes, seeing it as an opportunity for change, not a challenge

What skills and experience will you have

• Experience with Scrum and Kanban development methodologies and associated processes and tools
• Experience with Git Version Control
• Experience with working with Cloud technologies (AWS)
• Experience with e-commerce or content management systems
• Experience of Search Services (SOLR, Endeca, Algolia or AWS Elastic Search)
