Job Description

Students benefit from opportunities to use the recreation area at break times, which includes a pool table, an outside seating area, and an Astro turf football court.During PE and enrichment sessions, students can access the youth zones climbing wall, boxing gym & martial arts room, dance studio, and gymnasium.As a Teaching Assistant, candidates would need to demonstrate an understanding of stages of development and individual needs. They must also be able to give positive encouragement and feedback to ensure pupils are reaching their full potential.Requirements before applying to the role:

  • Experience of working within an education setting or equivalent.
  • Experience working with vulnerable pupils.
  • A DBS on the update service
  • Excellent behavior management
  • A strong and resilient personality
  • Experience with behaviors that are challenging
  • Team Teach trained - or willing to attend training
The Schools are small but perfectly formed, with an average of 30-55 pupils on roll. Our sole focus is to help young people achieve positive progressions that will allow them to return to mainstream schools or enter into Further Education. We provide opportunitiesfor children who need a safe space outside of home, alongside adults who can provide a nurturing, encouraging and supportive environment.With this in mind, we would love to hear from applicants who are passionate about working with young people who need support to make positive changes. If they are able to lead a team of peers with the same mindset, that would be highly beneficial.Role and Responsibilities
  • Supporting all students throughout the school in a 1:1, whole class support or outside the class capacity
  • Continuing the altruistic work of the Progress Group
  • Giving the pupils the chance to either get back into mainstream schools or progress into a sustained Post 16 pathway
  • Contribute to a positive ethos for learning
  • Overtly promote the values and achievements of the school to the community
  • Be aware of and follow the company Equality, Safeguarding and Health and Safety Policies
  • Have and create high expectations of staff and students
Expectations within the role:
  • Assist the teacher with writing and monitoring pupil learning plans.
  • Review and implement interventions which enable pupils to understand and meet their targets.
