Job Description

Have you taught Maths up to KS4 beforeDo you have experience teaching learners with challenging behavioursWe are recruiting for a Maths Teacher to start ASAP on a full time & long term basis at a secondary alternative provision in the Tameside area for young people with Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs, SEMH.

  • Pay up to £180/day depending on experience & qualification.
  • Hours are 8:30am - 3:30pm each day, Monday to Friday.
  • Temp to perm for the right person.
  • You could be teaching either KS3 or 4 in small groups of no more than 8 pupils, with TA support.
  • Opportunity to make a real difference to young people from vulnerable backgrounds.
The school is rated GOOD in all areas by Ofsted despite the challenges & obstacles faced by the young people that they cater for. Staff & management work well together and there is a supportive, inclusive and collaborative atmosphere.Pupils all have an EHCP for special needs including SEMH, ADHD, Autism & SpLD so the successful Maths Teacher will need to have an ability to differentiate, manage behaviour, motivate & engage with interesting and challenging work, while promoting a positive,safe and fun learning environment.While challenging this is a great opportunity to build strong, meaningful & impactful relationships with your students, giving you the chance to make a real difference to young peoples life chances.To join us and be successful in this Maths Teacher role, you will need to:
  • QTS, QTLS or other relevant teaching qualification.
  • Have an enhanced DBS certificate (or be happy to apply for a new one)
  • Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable)
  • Minimum of two professional references.
  • Provide a CV with a full history from your education to present.
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
