Job Description

Sustainability Manager Climate17 are proud to be working with an established regeneration business with an enviable portfolio of property and land assets gained over 40 years. Due to their past success and future plans they are expanding their sustainability team and are lookingfor a Sustainability Manager to sit within their Strategic Investment & Growth Team and support on ESG initiatives and deliverables.This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who has drive and passion for protecting the future. Within this role you will look to create sustainable growth, reach carbon reduction and waste management goals and as a business engage with the communityand renergise local communities.The RoleAs the Sustainability Manager you will be able to build strong relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders and deliver on ESG strategies and goals, whilst leading on a range or action plans including net zero, biodiversity and socialvalue initiatives with the aim of developing outstanding sustainable and climate resilient places for people to work, live and visit.You will be a go-to person on ESG practices and work closely with the Group Sustainability and ESG Director to promote climate resilience across sites.Responsibilities

  • Delivering sustainability action plans and social value initiatives.
  • ISO 50001 energy management activities
  • Input to ESG reporting
  • Embrace best practices and ensure compliance with legislation
  • Promote ESG services and climate resilience via marketing and communications activities
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders addressing ESG risks and opportunities
  • Ad hoc sustainability projects
  • Maintain your understanding of sustainability legislation and issues in relation to the property sector
RequirementsIt is expected for the ideal candidate to have experience of some of the listed areas of expertise:-ESG reporting, UN SDGs, Climate change policy & legislation, environmental and/or energy management systems, environmental auditing, carbon appraisals, renewable energy technologies, BREEAM, regeneration, placemaking & planning, biodiversity, natural capitaland green infrastructure, sustainable urban drainage, sustainable procurement
  • 2+ years sustainability experience within a business environment, preferably within the built environment.
  • Skilled in liaising with and influencing senior-level customers and other stakeholders.
  • Practical commercial skills, with the ability to relate sustainability issues to business challenges.
  • Able to motivate and inspire enthusiasm for sustainability issues.
  • Excellent communication, numeracy and presentation skills.
  • Strong data management and analysis skills.
  • Excellent Word and Excel skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Preferably educated to degree level, or equivalent experience.
