Job Description

Residential Support Worker165 Hours / 3-4 Days a weekPay Rate: £10.69 - 14.83Locations: Rochdale, Bolton, Prestwich, ChesterThe role:We are working with a care home group for children around Greater Manchester who are in need of Residential Support Workers.Your main focus would be to give 1:1 support to offer the best quality of life possible and help the individual towards their independence for when they leave the home. Building trust and relationships with your service user may take time, you would haveto be patient, empathetic and understanding.This position has two set shifts, they are 8 am - 10 pm and 9:30 pm - 8:30 am Waking Hours. Waking hours and weekends are paid at time and a third.During Waking Hours you will have your own bed to sleep in, and be on call throughout the night in.If you do not hold any qualifications in a childcare or care based setting, the company would be happy to fund and support you through a Children and Young Peoples Work Force Apprenticeship.Our Client:Our client is an independent care home group for children aged 10-18 years old, with homes across Greater Manchester, rated outstanding over 2020 by the Care Quality Commission.The children at the homes have a variety of mental health problems and complex needs, and our client identifies these and offers holistic care to empower young people to be independent and enjoy a better quality of life.What you need:

  • Patience, empathy, and commitment
  • Hold an enhanced DBS or be happy to have one processed
  • A qualification in childcare or willingness to work towards
  • Ideally experience working with people that have complex needs
  • Decision making, communication, and monitoring skills
  • A full Driving license and a car would be an advantage
