JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Title:Purchasing ManagerManchester BasedHours: 8:30am - 5:30pm (mon-thurs) 5pm finish on friday35kReporting To:Supply Chain ManagerJob Purpose:Actively responsible for the daily operation of all aspects and effective running of the purchasing function in conjunction with maintaining stock levels in line with company expectations, ensuring maximum fulfillment of sales orders with the least amount of stock, liaising closely with buyers, finance, warehouse and sales teams.Main Responsibilities:Managing day to day running of the purchasing department and managing the teamProduce reports to board members and senior management team on purchasing departments performance.Work closely with all other departments to improve service levels and efficiency. Creating, Raising and Sending purchase orders to vendors using just in time principle. Confirming with Vendors receipt of purchase orders.Progressing outstanding purchase orders with vendors to ensure stock availability at all times and then updating arrival dates.Progression of shipping documents to ensure speedy clearance of imported goods. Payments for overseas suppliers relating to shipping documents.Maintenance of all reorder points across all itemsMaintenance of all Lead times across all itemsWorking closely with Board Directors to ensure optimum availability of stock.Working closely with Senior Sales Managers to ensure optimum stock availability for "key" accounts.Working closely with our preferred agents to ensure the right stock is shipped at the right time.Liaising with senior buyers to ensure any product issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.Liaising with internal and external sales personnel to provide detailed stock availability information.Familiarity with utilising ERP systems and master data maintenance.At least 3 years experience in a supply chain management role, working within a management team.Ability to lead, coach and motivate a team.Strong Microsoft Office skillsStrong customer service focusStrong communication skillsSelf-motivated and ambitiousExperienced NegotiatorWork independently and under pressure ensuring specific time frames are adhered to, someone who can take responsibility and lead by example.Ability to thrive under pressure.Hands on approachA knowledge of Navision DynamicsKnowledge of Bonded warehousingAn understanding of working with HMRCCordant Group is an equal opportunities employer Required skills
