This truly is an exciting time to join North Manchester General Hospital.A once-in-a-generation opportunity will see our hospital rebuilt and the creation of a health hub within our grounds.On 1st April, 2020, we became part of the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust under a management agreement. We expect to transfer formally into the Trust in the near future.This will be the final piece in a plan that set out the benefits of creating a Single Hospital Service for the city of Manchester, uniting multiple hospitals and a provider of community services.We are part of changing the way care is delivered to address health inequalities in our region.Collaborating with other hospital sites within the MFT footprint, our capabilities will grow. We will help you to develop, and support you to deliver your very best work.Become part of our ‘family’.Do you thrive under pressure, enjoy a fast paced environment and relish the chance to increase your skillsetWorking as an AMU nurse allows you the chance to gain exposure to a variety of patients and provides you with skills in areas such as cardiovascular, gastroenterology, respiratory care and much more.Our AMU at North Manchester is there to provide the best possible transition from our A&E department to specialist areas within the hospital and our team here are passionate about making that transition as patient focussed as possible. What can you expect from usWorking on a fast paced AMU allows you the opportunity to be involved with a diverse range of patients, and work closely with a variety of other professionals to treat your patients in a way that delivers the best care for them. You will join a forward thinking, diverse team who are supported and encouraged by passionate leaders who believe in creating a caring and patient focussed environment that enables you to be the best nurse you can be.Becoming a part of this team will allow you the chance to gain a variety of transferable skills such as recognising the acutely unwell adult, catheterisation, intermediate life support, mentorship and dysphagia training. We understand that the chance to grow and develop your nursing skills may well be important to you so development is fully supported by the leadership team who are keen to adapt a flexible way of working to allow you the chance to grow in a way that suits you. The team is heavily influenced by physicians.Likewise if you’re a return to practice nurse you will be given the support and skills you need to aid your smooth transition back into nursing.
