Furthermore, the Oxford Road Campus department boasts an internationally renowned, fully integrated mass spectrometry and specialised assay section with HPLC and a wide range of manual assays.We’re looking for enthusiastic, aspirational and highly motivated HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists who have experience within the Biochemistry department and a passion for clinical excellence, quality and a drive for career development. The role will involve routine processing of analytical samples, training and development of the support staff, and involvement in maintaining protocols on the section in line with ISO 15189 such as reagent control, documentation, quality assurance, audit processes and general overall performance. As a progressive department, we currently provide a significant amount of specialist services to both clinical users and external laboratories and invest in staff development offering support and encouragement in CPD with the opportunity to attend approved seminars and external courses when available.You will be required to participate within the 24/7 rotational shift patterns. The department are looking for full time applicants and part time applicants including requests for a job share to support work/life balance. The posts will be static; however, you may be expected to attend the other sites for meetings and service requirements.Suitable candidates will require Biochemistry experience post-registration and have experience of working out of hours. Candidates must be in possession of an IBMS specialist portfolio in Clinical Biochemistry or equivalent to be appointed at Band 6 however, candidates working towards their specialist portfolio may be considered for appointment at band 5.The department has full HCPC training status for pre and post registration IBMS portfolios and full ISO 15189 accreditation.So, join us and you’ll discover more ways to make progress.
