Job Description

Jonathan Lee Recruitment are currently looking for x" Software Test Engineers at Junior to Senior level for a Global compnay based in Greater Manchester. The role summary and skills needed are below:Position Summary: The main function of the role is to write Windows application software for the test and configuration of a wide range of electronics products.Responsibilities:

  • The ability to write and debug Object Orientated software applications
  • Software validation testing to demonstrate that requirements meet specifications
  • Control and test external hardware devices
  • Complete all relevant documentation to the required standards.
  • Provide training for software users
  • Accurate assessment of project timescales for software completion to specification
  • The ability to highlight software risks early on in a project.
  • To provide creative input on all aspects of software design.
  • To contribute to the project team in a concise, informed and professional manner.
  • To maintain version records for tracking software changes on each product.
  • Technical support to resolve line-stoppers within a manufacturing environment.
  • Support of off-site software and test equipment.
Job Requirements: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • HNC / Diploma / Degree qualified in computer science / software engineering
  • Experience developing Win-Form applications with either VB.Net or C# within Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Strong problem solving capabilities
  • Highly motivated with an ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • Valid passport - Foreign travel will be required to support test engineering activities
PREFERRED / IDEAL:
    Experience in software development ideally within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows XP / 7 / 8.1 / 10
  • Technical Skills :
  • Microsoft VB6, C, VB.Net, C#
  • Experience with converting VB6 to VB.Net or C#
  • Knowledge of Installing software and drivers for different peripherals
  • Communication protocols such as RS232 and USB
  • XML / XSLT
  • Database knowledge (Microsoft SQL)
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure and networking protocols / systems
  • Understanding of electronics and mechanical interaction with software
  • Creative and innovative approach to design.
  • Good project planning skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Maintain good personal presentation and communication.
