We have a fantastic new opportunity for an Electronics Engineer / Embedded Software Engineer to join to join us on our exciting journey. Our philosophy is that an employee should enjoy coming to work and be able to have fun whilst providing an exceptional service.Role Summary: Electronics Engineer / Embedded Software EngineerThe Electronics Engineer / Embedded Software Engineer is a new role that will hold a key position in our companys growth, whilst holding a position of overall senior responsibility for delivering product integration alongside our embedded software and hardwaredevelopment responsibilities.This dynamic role works collaboratively with our strategic partners, supports and reports into our Technical Director, whilst working closely with other departments and their teams in an environment where we design, develop, integrate, and install vehiclesdevices and mobile solutions for our customers. The role will have an initial focus on our R5 device, but will grow to encompass all areas of product integration across the business.

  • Design and integration of accessories for our R5 device
  • Creation and maintenance of technical design documentation for R5 accessories and the main R5 device with the support of the HFG technical author
  • Work with the internal HFG test team to validate and iterate device designs.
  • Guide and contribute to the specification of future versions of the R5 device and other HFG products
  • Liaise with customers and partners to collect device requirements
  • Document and communicate device requirements to suppliers and partners
Skills: Electronics Engineer / Embedded Software Engineer
  • Strong ability to communicate via technical design documentation.
  • Practical embedded micro controller software skills - C, STM32, ATMega
  • Practical digital electronics skills - Digital IO, Digital communications (RS232, USB, SPI, I2C), Digital design
  • Practical analog electronics skills - Audio design, audio level matching
  • Practical ability to integrate 2 electronic devices via audio and digital communications
  • Electronic circuit debugging and ability to use electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and function generators.
  • Good schematic entry and PCB design skills (Eagle / Kicad)
  • Knowledge of Git / Source control
  • A self-motivated expert in software/system development
  • High standard of literacy and communication skills, both written and verbal including the ability to deliver engaging presentations
  • Able to adapt and succeed in a changing environment
  • Have sound commercial understanding of projects
  • Able to work collaboratively with all colleagues and departments to achieve commercial success
  • Ability to focus others to achieve individual and wider business objectives

  • Commitment to improving existing systems and policies and driving excellence
  • Support the agile nature of the wider business, with additional duties as and when required

Job Requirements: Electronics Engineer / Embedded Software EngineerA related engineering degree plus a 3 years industry experience or 5 years industry experience in engineering and electronics design.Benefits
