Snr Data Architect, Data Stores (ETL/AWS) – Manchester£90 to 100k + remote workingMy client, one of UKs largest Media Company, whos head office is based in London, is looking for an experienced Snr Data Architect to work from home in Manchester and be part of a growing UK agile team who are delivering a deeper understanding for their users.This role is based predominantly at home and very limited travel to London is needed once they return to a new normal.They are looking for a Snr Data Architect to help them select and design data stores to hold data about their users.The successful candidate will be able to design the data stores so they are efficient, cost effective and GDPR compliant.They’ll also be capable of writing data processing policies and documenting the data.The team is responsible for providing a deeper understanding of our users to help guide us to providing a more engaging experience.Tech Stack used:Their infrastructure is predominantly Amazon Web Services, using capabilities it provides such as S3, Athena, Glue, Lambdas and Step Functions. They use Tableau for providing data dashboards, and useSpark, Scala, NodeJS and Python for any custom development tasks.They are strong believers in DevOps principles and infrastructure as code, and they are continuously trying to improve in that direction.Desired skill set:The ideal candidate for this position will be a generalist, with an interest in working across the full stack.You will have experience working collaboratively within a web development team with a non-hierarchical structure, be self-directed and happy to work on your own initiative.Some other things that they would like in a candidate (you don’t have to tick all to apply!)Experience designing data stores for multi-billion records, likely with sparse data.Experienced with performant querying of data storesAbility to design a data store which is GDPR compliantData tiering techniques and toolingExperience writing data processing policiesExperience with ETL toolsImportant Information: We endeavour to process your personal data in a fair and transparent manner.
