Our client, a leading car manufacturer are currently looking for a SMART Technician to join their luxury BMW dealership in Trafford.We are looking for an experienced SMART Technician from either a main dealer or independent environment to join our clients leading and well-established brand.To qualify for this role you must be confident in your own ability and have experience with any type of smart or cosmetic repair on cars, from either a main dealer or independent garage.About the Role* Carry out each job within the budgeted time as set out on the job cards, in order to maintain your own labour productivity* Follow key processes to achieve specified quality and efficiency targets* Ensure vehicle returns are kept to an absolute minimum and that work being released is right first time* Work as part of the Bodyshop team to carry out scheduled vehicle repair work, in accordance with the manufacturer technical standards* Mask/protect any areas adjacent to parts to be prepared* Apply abrasives and use hand and power tools in preparing parts for final refinish* Remove all dust and other particles from prepared parts* Inspect panels for adherence to shop standards for preparation* Prepare vehicles or parts of vehicles to the highest quality standard* Accurately manage and maintain a colour database* Examine vehicles and/or parts of vehicles and diagnose non-routine defects using knowledge of the vehicles and technologies concerned* Work in accordance with Bodyshop and dealership Health & Safety requirements* Work with colleagues to maintain Bodyshop standards of cleanliness and tidiness* Take personal responsibility for the daily maintenance of Bodyshop equipment, and reports equipment defects or problems that need attention* Attend all specialised training, product knowledge and any other such relevant training that is requested of youAbout You* Experience working as a SMART Technician* Have an NVQ level 3 in Body Repair - Not essential* Have excellent customer service skills* Hold a full UK driving licence* Have a desire to succeed* Thrive under pressure* Work well within a team and have an excellent work ethicAbout the company* Excellent basic salary and bonus scheme* Bonus based labour sales and efficiency* Ability to progress through internal promotion* Excellent benefits package, including pension, healthcare, and car scheme* Flexible progression based on your career aspirations* Family owned groupWhats nextIf youre an automotive professional looking for a role with realistic career progression within a business that promotes positive change and development, or someone who is looking to take their first steps in to the industry, then this is the role for you.Apply online now or contact our Recruitment Team to find out more.
