Job Description

Role: Shift Supervisor / Team Leader – Lasers Location: Manchester Salary: Competitive Pay Rate Overview:

  • We are currently recruiting for an experienced shift supervisor / team leader to work for our client in Manchester, the role will be working on their afternoon shift (14:00-22:00) and work across their manufacturing facility.
  • The role will be supervising whilst working in the production area to ensure resources are allocated appropriately and managed effectively to ensure on-time delivery of quality products to customers, this production area would include a range of Laser cutting machinery and water jet machinery.
  • Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Reporting to the production manager the role will be responsible for effective supervision of relevant area/shift to ensure resources are deployed appropriately and safe working practices are observed at all times.
  • Managing several direct reports including cell leaders and service centre operatives.
  • Ensure laser and other associated equipment is maintained and operated in line with policies and only operated by accredited personnel.
  • Make observations and recommendations to management as appropriate
  • Any other reasonable duties or accountabilities that are consistent with the role and driven by organizational requirements at any given time.
  • Global Accountabilities for the Role:
  • Continual compliance with HS&E policy, promotion of safe working practices and environmental awareness throughout department.
  • Adherence to companies Quality policy and procedures. Provision of high-quality products and services on time.
  • Promotion of business process improvements at every level throughout the company to ensure all resources are deployed and managed effectively and targets met or exceeded.
  • Operate within budget parameters, corporate guidelines and protect corporate assets.
  • Ensure all legal, regulatory plus internal policies and procedures are complied with.
  • Qualifications and capabilities:
  • Relevant technical/engineering degree or equivalent work experience (5 years+).
  • Relevant manufacturing experience in similar or related industry.
  • Superalloys, manufacturing and engineering processes, lean improvement, health and safety.
  • Skills required include IT-Microsoft products, numeracy, literacy, communication, negotiation, problem solving, ability to prioritize and effective team working
