SEO Account Director

Job Description

A global communications agency is on the lookout for an SEO Account Director to join their growing SEO team at their head office in Manchester.As an SEO Associate Director, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional SEO delivery of your campaigns. You will be accountable for the SEO strategy and set the framework for future SEO success to exceed client objectives and expectations. You willalso be accountable for the management, upskilling and progression of your team members.You will be expected to champion and oversee departmental roles, such as supporting the SEO Director in developing and maintaining a future-facing approach to SEO, and monitoring the resource allocation of the department. You will be responsible for thetraining and coaching of both your team members and external stakeholders, whilst also contributing and departmental revenue growth in the form of both existing and new business opportunities.Key Responsibilities as an SEO Account Director:

• Supporting the SEO Director in all areas of SEO departmental duties, with emphasis on leading operations;
• Running of regular internal training/team meetings with all members of SEO department.
• Operationally support team to ensure allocation sheets are updated and efficient resource is available via co-ordinating freelancers and assisting with recruitment.
• Consistently sharing relevant industry updates and remaining ahead of the SEO marketplace.

• Team leadership and management of an Account Director, Manager and Senior Exec.
• Assist in developing their skills, set KPIs and outlining development roadmaps for their growth and success.

• Support new business pitches, including the creation of resources and attending pitches and workshops.
• Develop new SEO proposals and statements of work.

• Proactively analysing client websites, search results and market trends to identify and present cutting-edge SEO opportunities within clients markets.

• Contribute to EMC SEO leadership group whilst driving forward SEO innovation, testing new ideas and pushing boundaries.
• Continue challenging the status quo of the department and team on deliverables, targets, and opportunities.

Skills & Experience Required:

• At least 5 years experience in a specialist SEO role, preferably in an agency environment demonstrable experience of developing and executing SEO strategies.
• Proven demonstrable experience of managing and mentoring direct reports within the digital space.
• Passion and confidence when it comes to team leadership and forging productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• A proven track record of proactively identifying business opportunities within client targets and strategies.
• A commercial and analytical mindset, with an awareness of the bigger picture.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Clear communication and strong organisational skills.
• Comfortable using the essential SEO tools, such as Screaming Frog, Google Analytics & Search. Console, Looker Studio, Google Business Profiles, SEMrush, SISTRIX etc.
• Ability to pre-empt problems and be pro-active in producing solutions.
