Job Description

  • Provide technical support and advice current legislation and safety standards to the buying departments and supply chains
  • Implementing/developing and maintaining quality specifications and technical and control procedures

  • Provide technical support and advice current legislation and safety standards to the buying departments and supply chains
  • Implementing/developing and maintaining quality specifications and technical and control procedures
  • Ensure products comply to all UK relevant standards
  • Liaising with local trading standards officers and dealing with complaints and queries arising from Trading standards issues
  • Provide technical support to buyers stores and claims manager.
  • Provide data for WEEE, battery and packaging compliance registration
  • Communicating with far east suppliers
  • Checking certification, organising testing with UK Laboratories.
  • Oversee all aspects of the product development and compliance lifecycle.
  • Assist Buying and Design departments with all technical aspects relating to the product range.
  • Keep up to date with a broad scope of product safety legislation, and ensure that all Far East suppliers are producing goods to the correct standard.
  • Approval, verification and transfer of design documents to Far East suppliers.
  • Support sales and retail customers with technical information when products are on the market. Work with Merchandising and Buying departments on a product-based critical path to ensure that all product needs are met.
  • Meet project deadlines in good time.
  • Implement Corrective Action Plans based on manufacturing and customer feedback.
  • Oversee the Far East supplier base, and ensure that the correct ethical and social auditing requirements are met.
