Senior Technical Architect

Were looking for a senior technical architect to help with the technical design and engineering of our internal business-facing applications. Our applications deal with a range of cutting edge technology to provide competitive advantage to our firm. Youllwork closely with Solution Architects, Engineering teams and additionally with subject matter experts from wider Tech Central and business teams. Building technology assets is one of our top priorities in Tech Central, and you will be part of digital asset delivery at the heart of this. Skills and experience:Practical experience with detailed knowledge of one (or more) of the following areas: • Software Development (e.g .NET, React or Node) • Data engineering (e.g Databricks, Azure Data Factory) • Productionising AI and Data science solutions (e.g utilising AI models, LLMs) And experience of the following:• Experience of defining the architecture for complex products. • Speaking on behalf of technical teams and facilitating relationships with indirect stakeholders • The ability to design systems characterised by managed levels of risk, manageable business and technical complexity and meaningful impact. You can work with well understood technology and identify appropriate patterns. • Recommending decisions and describing the reasoning behind these • Integration Patterns • Project/Service (e.g. Business Analysis, Project management, ITIL) • Information Security and Risk • An appreciation of how your work supports the team. You can identify wider influences and how they apply. You keep an open mind and can understand the broader context. Key responsibilities • Undertaking structured analysis of technical issues and translating this analysis into technical designs that describe a solution • Working closely with Solution Architects to ensure designs are aligned with business and technical strategy • Being consulted on the design of a solution and working closely with developers when designing appropriate solutions • Thought leadership and advisor on emerging technologies, e.g. Generative AI • Identifying and triaging deeper issues that need fixing • Looking for opportunities to collaborate and reuse components, communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders • Gaining an understanding of the overall strategy and how the architecture supports this • Regularly connecting with fellow architects to draw on and share expertise and experiences • Ensuring architectural decisions align to agreed guardrails • Understanding the latest trends in technology and innovation, as well as new and future emerging technologies • Supporting initiatives across their lifecycle when required - e.g. discovery consultation, prototyping, proof of concept, product research and analysis
