Job Description

Senior Statistical AnalystManchester£45,000 to £50,000 + BenefitsWe are currently recruiting for a Senior Statistical Analyst to join our clients Pricing Team team, based near Manchester. The role works on a flexible working basis of 1-2 days per week in the office and the rest from home.Working for an established insurer with a first class reputation for customer experience, the successful candidate will form part of a positive, passionate team, with excellent benefits on offer as well.The opportunity has arisen due to a new insurance product being introduced, and will focus on building new predictive models using linear / non-linear statistical techniques, as well as monitoring / maintaining and updating existing statistical models inthe business. You will also provide insight and analysis to the company in order to develop their competitive advantage.Responsibilities

  • Produce regular business analysis reports.
  • Write new analysis code using SAS, RADAR, and other software packages.
  • Build predictive models using SAS, EMBLEM, and other software packages.
  • Ad-hoc project work providing analysis to the business.
  • Analyse business issues to find solutions to and make recommendations to improve profitability.
  • Train and develop new or graduate Analysts.
Requirements
  • Numerate Graduate with minimum 2:1 degree.
  • Pricing/Analytics experience gained in a General Insurance environment.
  • Ideally, you will come from a Household/Home Insurance background, but other GI lines of business will be considered.
  • Knowledge of SAS, Emblem or Radar is essential for the role.
  • People and project management skills.
  • Strong Modelling experience.
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written) and influencing skills.
