Job Description

OverviewGlobal Institutional Accounting (GIA) provides portfolio accounting and reporting to clients of the BNYM core custody business. The service provides the delivery of an audited market valuation for a portfolio or group of portfolios, together with supportinggeneral ledger reporting and transaction details. Overall Responsibility

  • Global project management role that will support the global transformation programme that the IA Utilities team are involved with. Current key projects include:
    • Supporting the creation and implementation of a global, standard operating model
      • Implementation of GRX
      • Automation of NIB / MFCF Statement Processing
      • Support discussions around the design and structure of the future global utilities group
      • Coordinate the implementation of the asset owner remediation project
      • Deliver a consistent solution for the Rec to custody process that supports legal entity requirements such as record retention
      • Review the Master Record Keeping model and introduce a stronger control framework
  • Assist with the migration of work between locations
  • Recon Design Lab - Lead discussions for IA Utilities regarding the implementation of TRACE
  • Coordinate the roll out ECRM
  • Act as a senior point of contact for the EMEA operation in the absence of the EMEA lead manager
Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Highly motivated, flexible team member who can adapt to the changing needs of the business, clients and other internal teams.
  • Manages the accurate and timely delivery of all Accounting change events, in-line with client and business expectations.
  • Leads the implementation of new projects and operational processes. Engages with the front office teams and the client to outline the service model. Coordinates with internal departments to implement a timely and accurate service
  • Project manages the onboarding of new systems and processes working closely with internal and external teams to deliver a timely and accurate service.
  • Leads regular meetings with the Department Head and other relevant Lead Managers
  • Opens strong communication links with other GIARS Business Technology teams globally in order to ensure best practice is shared and resource is best utilised across the teams for both local and global initiatives.
  • Develops own knowledge, to include the financial products used by our clients, operational procedures within the department and those of our internal stakeholders and current market developments.
  • A single direct report to support with the project management of new business and commercial opportunities
Skills and Experience
  • Previous experience in a financial services environment, ideally in an investment reporting or similar role would be preferable. However, a proven successful management track record will also be considered if the candidate can demonstrate the ability anddesire to quickly self-develop their investment reporting knowledge.
  • Strong attention to detail, good organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise in order to meet stringent demands.
  • Confident, articulate and professional speaking abilities
  • Effective written and oral communication skills with a proven ability to communicate with senior management and team members.
  • Excellent technical ability and an understanding of Institutional Accounting.
  • Prince II or equivalent project management qualification preferable
  • Quick to develop new skills and a pro-active approach to learning and training
  • Have a flexible attitude responding to the varying demands experienced in a financial services environment.
